- Collect, label, and prepare samples for analysis according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments as directed.
- Record, analyze, and accurately report test results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and minor troubleshooting.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals, reagents, and samples.
- Prepare reagents and solutions required for laboratory procedures.
- Maintain laboratory records, logs, and inventories.
- Follow all laboratory safety, health, and waste disposal procedures.
- Assist scientists, researchers, or clinicians during specialized tests and experiments.
- Report any equipment malfunction, contamination, or safety risks to the supervisor.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory at all times.
- Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Valid professional registration (where applicable).
- Prior experience in a busy research lab environment
- Experience in molecular techniques, microscopy, and parasitology would be an advantage
- At least 2 yearsâ experience in a laboratory setting is an added advantage
